Default Midwest Stratus Fractus - Midwestern Stratus F#19B7CF.jpg (1/1)

The stratus layer had pretty well broken up by this time. This evening
(Sunday), the weatherman referred to today's clouds as debris clouds,
debris from the storms that have been pounding Kansas.

Hopefully you folks will get a chance to dry out for a bit. I have a
Friend in the S.E. Corner of Kansas, and between Flood Warnings and
Hurricane Watches I'll bet he didn't get a lot of Sleep this last weekend.

There is still a lot of heavy weather in SE Kansas and Oklahoma and
heading this way. By the time it gets near Chicago it will have lost
steam. So your friend isn't out of the woods yet, Ed.

What is that in the right side of the picture. Looks like a man flying?
Doesn't look like a bird, maybe a kite?

It's a bird, Sandy. There were several flying around at that time.
They have the pointy wings and tail, but I'm not knowledgeable about
birds and can't ID it. It may be a sparrow or maybe a kite - aren't
there birds known as kites?

:-) We do have amazing things here in the Midwest, but no flying men
(or women) so far.

I didn't really think it was a man... but it sure looks strange. I've never
seen a bird that looked like that.

Here's the bird cropped from the full size picture. When you look at it
more closely, it looks like it could be almost any kind of medium sized
bird.
