Default Wave clouds [1/1]

These started as normal wave clouds then the waves began to break -
what was that all about?

Sorry about the quality, it was well dusk and my camera didn't like it.

Very interesting, Sue. Seldom seen!

Do you have a tripod? Even a cheapo tripod will help a great deal with

Great catch! I've only seen this type of cloud once and cursed all the
way home for not having a camera. Any idea what causes them?

Those ain't wave clouds but simply reflections of "Nessie" of Lochness
(sp?) fame...

The scientific name for these is "Kelvin-Helmholtz waves"
