Default How accurate is NOAA Weather Radio with SAME?

How accurate is NOAA Weather Radio with SAME?

I have a NOAA Weather Radio with SAME (the Uniden WX500) and the first one
didn't go off at all. I got it replaced and the second unit went off with
alerts correctly for the first two thunderstorms and then didn't give me a
peep for about 2 months until it gave me a false alert (it was a time when I
should have receieved an alert but it was the wrong alert) and then was very
quiet until it started alerting properly again.

So, at one point I thought, "Oh, these Uniden weather radios are just crap,"
but I have since come to the point where I can't tell whether it's the
radios, the broadcast, or a combination of both.

Does anyone have any insight on this?

Have a great week!

Brad

I saw a review on Amazon.com about the Uniden WX500 and someone
described the same problems as you've had. Must be a defect with the
alert circuitry.
