Default Where did you all get you Climatology degrees?

I was wondering since everyone here, except me, has a degree in
Climatology. Where did you get your degree?

Since this is the last stop on usenet for Global Warming information I
thought I would ask.

Thanks,
Uneducated Baffon

I got my degree from listening to the Eskimos who claim that their
pack ice is disappearing. Would they lie?
I got my degree from listening to scientists who say that tropical
species are working their way north,
to where they've never been before (from Kyushu onto Honshu).
I got my degree from meteologists who note that the jet stream has
moved an average of
75 miles farther north than it historically has been.
I got my degree from climatologists who can use ice cores from
multiple locations to
check atmospheric gas constituents from as much as 650,000 years ago.
I got my degree from reading epidemiological studies showing that
tropical diseases are encroaching
further into what were formally zones too cold for those diseases to
survive.
I got my degree from reading the scientific debates among authors who
challenge and check
each others' research.

Reading and scientific observation and experimentation are wonderful
things, aren't they?

I got my degree in Climatology by reading Liberal left-leaning
Environmentalist websites and publications. I have seen the light.

I may build a windmill on my property. I will barely fit and may
violate zoning laws. It's going to cost so much I may need a 2nd
mortgage on the property. This will save me about $200 per year. But
the best part is I can beat my chest knowing I am fighting global
warming.

Yes, those gases trapped in pack ice certainly have liberal biases!

It's your choice how to invest your money. It's not up to
government nor society to stop you from doing something, as long
as it harms nobody else.

Destroying jobs isn't "harm"?

That's a very good question to ask Wall Street!
Businesses seem to feel a lot of pressure to always increase
profits, and one of the ways to do that is to cut jobs!

If you implemented HALF the things the Global Warming people want
you'd cause the unemployment rate to go ABOVE 50% overnight.

Do you realize how many jobs that are directly affected by fossil
fuels?

And that's why it's not going to be done "overnight". But overnight
cuts in many industries don't seem
to bother Wall Street.

Do you realize how many jobs that are directly affected by fossil

Oh, yes. Do you realize how many jobs are directly affected by low
fleet gas mileage?
We're giving those jobs up to overseas automakers who build more fuel
efficient cars.
Detroit has worked very hard for years to get where it is today! What
of those jobs?
Are you suggesting government regulation?

Fossil fuel related industries should be heavily regulated to keep
them operating openly and without a lot of regulations regarding
pollution levels etc.

We trade one $15 per hour job for two $5.15 jobs and call it progress
when we close down a plant because it pollutes.

We should be exploring every square inch of this country for oil. Then
pump it out and sell it as fast as possible.

If people want to move to alternative fuels, fine, do with your own
money. Invest in those companies. Don't use tax money to destroy
companies and jobs.

A "green society" will be nice except for that part where you see
homeless people everywhere you look. "I can breathe cleaner air now
but my stomach hurts...oh yeah I haven't eaten in 3 days, lol"

Please, think about this green crap for a few months and then answer.

It appears that many titans of industry are thinking about this "green
crap".
http://www.usatoday.com/weather/clim...lwarming_x.htm

Are you anti-business?

"We trade one $15 per hour job for two $5.15 jobs and call it progress
when we close down a plant because it pollutes. "

Your business' health insurance rates are rising. Will you mitigate
your
risk by decreasing pollution? That's also a business decision.

China has been building its businesses as quickly as it can, but
is realizing that it has a huge pollution problem (among other
things).
It's turning to risk mitigation.

Companies would love to pay cheaper wages!
If you don't like what Wall Street proposes about wages, what will you
turn to, government regulation?

Would you mind an oil rig and refinery next door to you?
Would you want government to shut it down or regulate its pollution?

I ask you to think about the answers for a few months, and then
answer.
