The low cloud cleared here around an hour ago and the day is shaping-up
to be absolutely glorious. It's 19.5C already, with wall-to-wall sunshine and a gentle easterly drift. I'm pleasantly surprised that this sort of weather is still favouring us in mid-October. It makes the prospect of November (my least favourite month) a little more bearable. - Tom Blackmore, SW Essex. |

We had a glimpse of sun a few minutes ago but it's now gone dark again :-( Temp 13.9 deg C Will. -- |

BTW I think all Christmas stock should be removed when the temperature rises above 20°C :-) Jon. Hi, Jon, Make that 15°C otherwise it would be Christmas all year here! Currently 13°C fog & drizzle, no sun since Monday and only 23hr all month. Penny Tranter gave us a wonderful evening at the NE RMS yesterday, btw. A lovely lady. This is unbelievable, sun to the east of me, sun to the west of me and now the cloud is rolling in again and the mist thickening here at 1540 after a few brief glimpses of a yellow disc in the sky. Temp still 13.9 deg C Bring on the clear polar air in winter with snow showers :-) Will. -- |

Just come back from a lovely walk, no car required from where I live, not quite the views that Will has, but nice to be on my door step. Refresh the front page of my website to see one of the pictures just taken. The high rise buildings of Southend-on-Sea can be seen in the distance. Max today 18.8°c -- Keith (Southend) 'Weather Home & Abroad' http://www.southendweather.net |

Rather cloudy until early afternoon then pretty sunny, now it's cloudless. A pleasant balmy wind, is this really mid-October? I'm still in shorts for heaven's sake!
