Default Joe B's thoughts (4/12) on Christmas week - Discuss

A few people have noticed similarities to the 80's and that a few weeks
of mild weather as predicted could in fact turn into a bout of colder
weather, I can't really see anything wrong with that can you?

For me its very similar to pre 1991 weather, we had lots of hail
cold weather, mild weather and very foggy frosty weather just like
this time.

But every year is similar in some ways to the pre winters
of what we remember, i dont see anything wrong with it
but we should really listen to both sides of the fence

What is it with you guys?

Nothing constructive to say? This is uk.sci.weather remember. One/two
not very scientific comments and then it's name calling! Where did all
the abuse about TWO come from? I never look at it and didn't mention
it in my first post, so why fly off at a tangent?

Back on topic. No comments about Joe's reasoning, then? C'mon, people
I was hoping to learn something here.

Hi Steve,

Some of us have to work you know :-)

I think Joe's reasoning is sound. All pretty much basic dynamics leading to a
retrogressive pattern.
Current setup is on a knife-edge though due to models never handling trough
disruptions correctly partly because subtleties in moisture distribution always
come into play. This situation is, therefore not helped by the presence of
"Epsilon" albeit out of the main circulation. Joe has his own style of putting
things across and I quite like him, at least he always gives his reasons even if
they are in a foreign language (not English anyway ;-) ).

HTH,

Cheers,

Will.

You really will have to sort that cough out Neil.
Dr Matty recommends you were a thicker coat on these cold mornings.
Me, I have a thick skin to help :-)

Hi Will,

It was the bickering that was getting to me, not so much the lack of
response! (note to self...must take more happy pills.)

Do you think Google might be able to help with translating Joe B?

Hi de hi,

Well said Will, I always appreciate Joe putting his thoughts on-line.
You have to read it a couple of times to try to unravel his mind, but
he's always got good reasoning behind what he say's.
