uk.sci.weather (UK Weather) (uk.sci.weather) For the discussion of daily weather events, chiefly affecting the UK and adjacent parts of Europe, both past and predicted. The discussion is open to all, but contributions on a practical scientific level are encouraged. |

I am running a wireless Vantage Pro and those familiar with it will know
that it records extremes during the period 0001-2400. Does anyone know if it is possible to alter the period of extremes to 0900-0900 (if not for all elements, certainly the rainfall total)? Any advise would be appreciated. -- RICHARD CRIGHTON |

The totals can then be calculated for any period. For rainfall the data can be slightly out due to rounding errors that occur during the transfer. You could set the clock incorrectly but this has obvious drawbacks. Alan |

But if you're logging the data to a PC via Weatherlink then we have a prototype utility that can in principle look at monthly means, totals etc over any observation day period but it's not yet a polished product and requires a .Net Windows environment. If you're not sure what that means (but you may well do so) or are interested in more details then feel free to contact me via email using in the first instance please. If you log to a PC then you could use WeadtherDisplay software which being written by a New Zealander will do exactly what you want since that is how they record data in Australia and NZ. It also does it the standard way as well if that is your need. See the website at www.weather-display.com and download a 30 day trial. BTW you either have to run WeatherLink or WeatherDisplay, they cant co-exist as they both download from the logger. Stuart |
