Default Rain?

The MetO have done a right balls up, last night they said that there was
going to be a developing Low over us, with rain virtually all day. I
see from the MetO RADAR that there is hardly any rain.

Back to the seaweed !

I'm not sure about that - see Breakfast Weather forecast thread above. Jon
is often right.

I may have been premature in writing off some heavy rain. Since Noon,
periods of moderate rain interspersed with drizzle.

Not a drop in Chalfont St Giles so far today. Zero out of ten for the MO
forecasts yesterday and this morning, at least as far as this neck of
the woods is concerned.

Looking at the radar I think it's going to be/is very damp.
Lots of thunder rolls here in Leeds, and first flicks of lightning.

Just of out interest the West Cheshire satellite pic
http://www.west-cheshire.ac.uk/weather/msghreuvis.asp

....shows up the convection nicely over central/western parts of England.
Further south there seems something like a plume from the Spanish
Portuguese border, stretching right across Spain into France. Anyone any
idea what it might be?

I'm going to reserve my judgement although the timing has clearly been out.
Only 1mm so far but perhaps as Jon has indicated it will pep up again later.
Certainly forecast as a widespread event.

Apart from some light rain and drizzle this morning there has been
nothing here. Even some sun at times. It was supossded to rain all
day, 50mm, local flooding, weather warnings, the works.
It seemed quite showery over the country for much of the day but
now it seems to be getting it's act together across the Midlands.
Still, a poor forecast for here.

Well I have just got drenched cycling back from work. A good hour of
continuous rain here. The Met Office radar showed a nice N/S line of
moderate rain developing and crossing over Surrey and Sussex.
