From the 'Yesterday's Weather' page on the BBC Weather Pages

Dan Corbett writes "Mild air from the southern Atlantic flowing across
the UK helped push afternoon highs well into the upper teens (61-66F)
across much of Britain. The warmest spot by late afternoon was 20C
(68F) at Credenhill (Herefordshire). This is almost double the normal
highs for late October of 10-14C (50-57F)."

The last sentence speaks volumes.

20 degC is not double 10 degC. The man needs a good talking to.

And I don't think the air came from the "Southern Atlantic" :-)

I hope not because -273K does not exist, what with 0K being absolute zero.

0C is +273.15K
0K is -273.15C

But the sad thing is, as a professional meteorologist he must surely
know this. The only conclusion one can draw is that he considers
people too stupid to understand and thinks that his forecast makes
more of an 'impact' if he throws in an impressive sounding 'fact'
that today's temperature is 'double' the norm.
He's not the first, though....
