Default Delete posts from Damien and a vote to ban him

I run Outlook Express V6.0 in order to download the NG threads - however I
have really don't want to bother reading ANY more posts from Damien.
Can any one explain to me how I can delete his posts automatically with my
client .

Actually ADMINS can I table a motion to ban him from this NG??

When reading a message from him, goto the 'Message' menu and click 'Block
Sender'.
Unfortunately there is no way of banning somebody from Usenet. We can only
hope he gets bored...

You sort that out yourself. You won't die if you read a post
by Damien, except by laughing. You may well be able to remove him from
what you read but he still infests this group with his solipsistic
dementia and although you won't be able to see it the effect is still
there for the rest of us. There are still guns around even if you have
a bullet-proof vest.
The only effective strategy I can think of is to deliberately
and rigorously ignore what he says and carry on with the rest of the
thread. Also, never reply to him, but only refer to him in the third
person. There are, alas, far too many blabbermouths here for this to
work but it's the only answer to someone whose presence lowers the
whole tone.

Tudor Hughes.

From reading the messages in recent weeks, Damien (possibly of the Omen
variety) is already in many kill filters

Yes, you're right, they get bored and move onto another group.

I've never worked out if our Damien is an import from TWO

Might have been someone that got banned there once

Anyway, onwards and upwards

It's an unmoderated Usenet group - hence, no admins.

I agree Joe. I did exactly the same thing as you and this ng is a much
better place even to lurk in. Now for the idiots who reproduce Damien's
messages in their own...

Best regards, Roger

No, you can't. There are no admins and there is no way of banning him.
I'll leave it to those who use OE to explain how you can configure it to
avoid seeing his posts.

This isn't a forum with administrators or moderators - it's Usenet and
unmoderated.

Kill-filing, or blocking, a sender in OE is easy. Have one of the offending
messages showing - click on message on the menu bar and from the drop-down
menu which appears, click on block sender. It's a simple as that.

Cheers.

Turnpike is probably better than OE as a mail-and-news-reader. There are
other replacements for OE available, some free.
