After all of your excitement you probably won't be surprised at 1mm for the
same period here, despite today's forecast. Anyway, glad your escapades
turned out ok.

Just got back from a 3 day music festival held up on Bodmin Moor of all
places.

Arrived on Friday afternoon and it was howling a hooley with horizontal,
heavy rain. This lasted until around midnight then it was replaced by
horizontal 'normal' rain but with drizzle mixed in, all still accompanied by
a gale.

Awoke Saturday morning to find that it was still raining, this time without
the drizzle, just rain. Then the mist came down and the drizzle started and
the rain got heavier, and the wind got stronger. This then carried on until
the late afternoon early evening. The rain then became lighter but the
drizzle got heavier until I couldn't work out anymore if was actually rain
or drizzle, but it was still horizontal. Then in the early hours of Sunday
down came some really heavy rain, but at least the drizzle had stopped and
the wind had died down enough for the rain to be falling at around 45°
angle. Finally hit the sack to awake on Sunday morning to just light patchy
rain for an hour then back came the horizontal drizzle just to finish the
weekend off.

Lovely.

Here in the relative drylands of the Otter Valley I reckon it has been just
a tad drier than up there on that boggy Bodmin Moor.

4th 1.8 mm
5th 14.0 mm
6th 11.6 mm

Total for month now stands at 36.4 mm.

Raining now; not heavy, but persistent. Looks like it will rain for
most of the day. Heavier rain up on the moors (as almost always) but
there's a lot of water to flow to the sea over the next 24 hours. 2
flood watches in the SW at present.

You were very unlucky Nick. It was also Mousehole Sea & Sails weekend,
but nothing like the rainfall you would have endured on Bodmin Moor.

In Penzance
4th 13.1mm
5th 14.9mm
6th 4.4mm
So the total for the 3 days 32.4m compared with your 27.4mm
