Default {WR} Haytor 5/9/08 (not too bad in the end)

1035

Now into the "showers" in truth, continuous moderate rain with short intense
bursts of up to 30mm/h rates.
Rainfall now 21.6mm (AWS). Temperature 13.1C. Wind eased back to a force 4
SE'ly.
Brighter at times too with the sky now a lighter grey :-)

Still not too bad by Dartmoor standards, walkers coming down the lane all
nicely kitted out in quality waterproofs which is good to see! I'm pleased
that the repair I recently made to my workshop felt roof is holding up.

STOP PRESS 1041 a chink of sunshine.

In this part of the world last night was not too bad.
Only 19.2 mm rain (AWS) and a force 5 southeasterly.
Even on the higher moor at Postbridge just 20mm so far.
That is a very modest total indeed for Dartmoor.
The really torrential rain looked to be over Cornwall and has now scooted
up north into SW Wales.

Still continuous heavy rain and low clouds scudding very quickly across
the sky. House lights on.
Temperature 13.2C. Ground sodden. More to come as they say!

You're being spoilt! I dream of chinks of sunlight and all we get here is
rain, wind, gloom, more gloom and a packet of cold gravel.

24 mm of the wet stuff so far today and still it pours.
