Barack Hussein Obama II
aren't ya just sick of him. I hate him already and he isn't even in power
till tonight. All night now we have the TV wallpapered with 'im. So? Whats
this got to do with posting on sci.weather? well for one thing most TV
weather slots are cancelled. Instead we have this insane affinity thing
created between America and Great Britain. OK We should change over the US
Dollar never mind the Euro - that would make more sense. Anyway BO is a
Coconut, ask any black person what that is and you'll get your answer. I
dunno why they are going so berserk about it. Anythin' I guess for a rave
up! You really think Rapperman DJ Coolio is going to ever be elected
President of the United States. Not on your back door he ain't.

Him or Bush? Hmmmmmm.....not exactly a tough choice that one.

There is a strong affinity between us and the US - we get their
weather 3 weeks after they do. Allegedly.

Ah but they get it bigger and better as always :-(

Our snow is measured in cms, theirs in inches and feet.
Our heatwaves are in the 30s theirs are in the 90s.
Our storms produce tens of millimetres of rain, their storms several inches
of rain
Our storms may have a funnel cloud, their storms have ravaging tornadoes

I don't like the term 'unbeliever' - it implies that such people don't
believe in *anything*, rather than not just in some supernatural being
whose existence is unproven (and probably unprovable).

I believe in science & technology, not religious dogma.

I agree, "atheist" would have been better. But it's got connotations akin to
eating your own offspring in the US. As Julia Sweeney's mother said to
her... "Ok, don't believe in god, but an ATHEIST!!!"

Used to be similar here. When I went into hospital about forty years ago, I
was asked for my religion. When I said "atheist" the nurse said "Ooh, I
can't put that down! I'll write C of E" I told her not to but I reckon she
stuck to C of E.

Come to think of it, Scouts still bar atheists. I don't think they're
supposed to but it still happens. I heard the other day that in Dorset,
it's on the cards that the last non-religious school will be closed.
