Great morning to be at home. Sunny with patches of low cloud, giving fog on the moor. Temp. +6.3C and soaring, could be the warmest day of the year so far today as it might get above 10C if the cloud stays away (unlikely)! Min. +2.1C with a ground frost. Most snow now gone, but some stubborn extensive patches on the moor in deep gullies. Some primroses out and one or two bulbs starting to poke through. Grass and weeds not growing (thankfully) and soil is still very cold (below 5C at all levels). Unlikely to see daffs by St David's Day this year, indeed might not see them till April. I'm working on Easter as the most likely time for start of Spring (according to flowers etc) up here on the cold moorland tundra. Will (Haytor, Devon, 1017 feet asl) -- |

![]() Are you still going for another cold snap, Will. Perhaps turning cold again around March 2? Oh yes, I'm sticking to my guns, despite model runs! Meanwhile, enjoy, and make the most of this Spring taster. Will not too worried about the cold if and when it returns but please tell me when this blasted south west high is going to shift, it's doing my head in. Cloud broke this morning we manage to get just over half an hour sun and it's been back to gloom ever since, I hate it!! Just the same muck day after day, wish scandy highs would sit around as long as this thing does every winter, we would get loads of the white stuff!!! -- Graham |

![]() Been as near perfect as February can be here. www.sennen-cove.com/today2.htm Rounding off a nice week. You've done well! Since last Saturday we've had 4 days of total gloom with only Monday seeing anything in the way of sunshine (3.5 hours), then yesterday and today just over an hours sunshine between them! Top temp of 9.0c on Monday (when we actually saw the sun) and today we only managed to reach 6.7c -- Graham |

What annoys me about this cloudy high is that if we got this setup in June, how fantastic would that be! I hate it when we get the "right" setups in the wrong season. February is a time for cold weather, Azores highs can wait till summer :-) You watch come May and June the NE'lies will set in bringing cold rain and day maxes of 10C. Will -- |
