Default We're thawing!

What a joy to look out from the window this morning and see the car frost,
ice and snow-free! Looks like a good thaw has set it up here in
Sunderland... the first morning it's been above freezing for some time.
Anyone else thawing out?

David Allan.

Same here at Lancing in West Sussex, expected to see lots of white stuff
this morning but car free of frost and water running off roofs like
waterfalls.

Fantastic and may it continue as my business has been suffering BADLY with
all this snow!

No sign of a thaw here yet in Saltdean, 5 miles E of Brighton. Moderate snow shower at the moment
which has covered the path I've just swept. Plenty of good sized drifts outside where the snow has
blown off the fields opposite the house.

Seems to have been more thawing during night hours midnight-8am in
Southampton than day hours yesterday but still a cover. Surprising:
wasn't expecting "milder" air to arrive until around Tuesday.

North-east Hampshire, it's +0.7deg but has just started snowing again,
albeit very lightly.

Yes, it's been thawing steadily all night here, with occasional
rain/snow showers. It'll be a blessed relief when it's all gone.

I notice we aren't the only ones - temperatures in northern Lapland are
well above zero this morning.

The little snow we had has almost disappeared in Ramsgate -- the process
began yesterday afternoon. 2.0C.

Not much sign of it here in Cranleigh, Surrey. I suspect that the
temperature is just above freezing this morning but that the wet-bulb
temperature is still below,

They are presumably on the "other side" of our High and getting SW winds
as a consequence.
