Default A recipe for confusion

For SE England, there are no fewer than four separate warnings in force
for icy roads tonight: one flash warning (orange) issued at 17:11 and
three advisories (yellow) all issued between 17:25 and 17:45. Some parts
of the SE are covered by more than one warning (Portsmouth and
Southampton notch up three) and every part of the region is covered by
at least one.

I'm normally supportive of the Met Office, but in this case it really
does seem ridiculous. Four warnings issued over a period of just over
half an hour! Why couldn't they have issued a single warning covering
the whole region, since although the wording of the warnings differs
slightly they all amount to the same thing?

The MetO warnings page is a shambles anyway. Why can't it just show me
the warnings for the day I click on? If I click on Saturday, why does it
need to show me Wednesday's warnings too?

It's also very confusing as to which warnings apply to me unless I faff
about clicking on what I think is my region on the map or in the dozens
of links which all run into each other. And when I do there is no
obvious way to get back to showing the whole of the UK again without
using the breadcrumbs which often dump me back to the wrong page.

At the time of writing on that page there are 19 flash warnings for
widepspread icy roads displayed in a narrow vertical table. All with
differing start times.

It's an unreadable mess IMO.

The old site was much more usable.
