![]() "Lawrence Jenkins" wrote in message .com... "analeptic" LOL sounds like a medical condition. That's what posting whilst try to watch Munchester United does to you. Mind you after Rooney's betrayal, all united fans are in analeptic shock I think. Now you know how Leeds fans felt when Cantona spit deserted for the old enemy.... -- Col Bolton, Lancashire 160m asl |

You would be surprised at how just a few degrees out and a couple of weeks here and there pall into insignificance when he and his fans claim how great his forecasts are. Dave Joe's winter forecast 2009/2010 for North America and Europe was amazing correct watch this video from July 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGfQQ...t=1& index=65 His prediction for far higher snowfall in the mid analeptic eastern states he actually nails spot on a far colder snowier winter from DC to NY 7 months in advance. His prediction for warmer more benign temperature in the NW states was uncannily accurate. As for Europe this daily mail (yes Daily Mail article covers Joe and the Met Office at the start of January. Again Joe is proved far more correct than the UKMO AGW obsessed effort-yet Joe is the charlatan? That just defies logic. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...ice-wrong.html Even charlatans can sometimes get things right by chance. Tempting to put up a parody mirror site called crapweather by Joe the *******. Inspired by the recent ihateryanair legal fiasco - which is now back online at http://www.ihateryanair.org They may have very smart lawyers but no common sense. Regards, Martin Brown I really can't understand this disproportional hatred for Joe *******i? I can't help think that its based purely on his AGW scepticism. However Martin at least you concede that he got that winter forecast absolutely correct, why some here are so blinkered they don't have the grace to acknowledge that fact. Now how about those UKMO winter and summer forecasts. You know I've never read the Mail yet that article on the AGW driven agenda by the likes of chairman Napier echo every conclusion that I've come to independently. |

Keith (Southend) http://www.southendweather.net "Weather Home & Abroad" The interesting part about Joe's NH winter forecast is that in North America he sees last years cold and snowy areas swapping places with the benign warmer areas of the NW. So this winter he's going for a colder snowy NW with a milder less snowy east and Atlantic states. |

In article , Will Hand writes: At this stage I'd go for a norma/mild temperature and wet November which would put paid to any really cold winter You really think so, Will? In the past such a November has quite often been followed by a cold winter. Indeed November 2009 was "very mild an exceptionally wet", to quote the headline in Weather Log. I'm using Paul Bartlett's results. Hopefully correctly. Will -- |

So this winter he's going for a colder snowy NW with a milder less snowy east and Atlantic states. Why is it interesting? He's just parroting the historical norm for a La Nina in the USA. Have a look at slide 37 on this NOAA presentation. http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/product...-fcsts-web.pdf Winters in the USA are *much* easier to predict than winters in the UK as ENSO has a far more direct effect - though they do not follow the pattern every single year, for sure. The surprising thing is that he managed to get his USA forecast wrong 4 times in 4 years, despite ENSO. That actually takes some doing. |

The posturing *******i has exactly the followers here that I would expect to find - agenda-driven types who ignore inconvenient detail. Over in this country a crazy mooncaster whose forecasts, both short- and long-range, have been shown to be not even as good as random guesswork, has plenty of stupid acolytes who are prepared to pay him for his work.- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - "has plenty of stupid acolytes who are prepared to pay him" You do realise Ronnie that the Joe *******i?s winter forecast is given away free?
