Just seen Peter Gibbs on the one show and they asked him how long the cold
spell was going to last, he said a few more days, before turning milder and
wetter over the weekend!

However it looks likely that it will turn colder again after that, going
by the outlook on the Met Office site and the ECMWF 12Z run.

Similar line on Look East, though with a considerable degree of
"Actually we haven't got a clue about the weekend".

What keeps catching my eye is a potentially very awkward rain/snow situation
in the far south form Sunday onwards, as indicated on both EC and the MetO
GM.
