Does AGW count as politics, BTW? -- Paul Hyett, Cheltenham (change 'invalid83261' to 'blueyonder' to email me) When Oz had its cold snap last winter I emailed Phillip asking him to recycle a memorable piece he wrote for the Sunday Telegraph 20 years or so ago about Sydney's coldest ever day (1859, I think. The max. temp. was 4C! ). He replied straightaway saying, rather sheepishly, that he hadn't kept it. He must get scores of emails a day, and it's the mark of a true gent. to reply to all of them. Patrick Moore is just the same. It's easy to understand why he doesn't want to get into online arguments with rabble-rousers, but I really miss his contributions. I do miss his weather reports from Whipsnade which is quite close to my home as it is an interesting comparison. I can visit his website of course to find out what is going on there. I wish he'd return. Echoed. Does AGW count as politics, BTW? I think that it all depends on how it's discussed. It needs to be discussed scientifically, rather than politically or as a religious doctrine. -- John Hall "I look upon it, that he who does not mind his belly, will hardly mind anything else." I find little difference in argument between the doom-mongers and the ostriches. I prefer the term 'agnostic' to 'ostrich', myself. ![]() -- Paul Hyett, Cheltenham (change 'invalid83261' to 'blueyonder' to email me) |

Okay Nick that's quite a statement there. Right wing views are nasty, which leaves the obvious conclusion that left -wing views are good, even though the left-wing have killed more people than any other politcical peruasion in history combined. Do you dispute this? Ahem... cough Hasn't it been cold recently?! Still things look like they're on the up, glad to see snow is finally thawing... |

Ironic, isn't it, that this thread that started with someone asking why he left should turn into the reason for it. |
