Dry for the most part with an appreciable gap between the initial minor outbreaks of granular snow, the first petering out at 1025Z and the second brief affair from 1345Z until 1400Z. Nigel (Romsey, Hampshire) 40m amsl .... kept wondering if we were going to get something over here in east Dorset, as the cloud cover this morning looked to have some substance to it. However, nothing seen, and the Sc has been thinning/lifting well over the past hour so I suspect we've escaped for the time being. A rogue lump of Cu has just passed over and shed a shower of small polystyrene balls (1555-1610Z), enough for the wind to 'snake' them along the road. They melted within 30 seconds of impact. So we've had hail type 2 (snow grains) and hail type 3 (shower of snow pellets). Snowflakes remain elusive. Nigel (Romsey, Hampshire) 40m amsl |

Cloud looks to have more of Cu-form look to it this morning, so there's a possibility of a few flakes / pellets of something I suppose - whether there's enough depth I'm not sure.
