Is it possible to set up a killfile with your newsreader? If so, you might be able to filter out most of the posters here whom you find annoying (though there's one who continually morphs his identity, sadly). It's more the ones which leave that I'm missing - the killfile can't bring those back :/ If I can safely ignore the GW threads, I can safely ignore the trouble makers - although I cannot control the consequences of their actions ![]() |

Here is one i dip into now and again http://forum.netweather.tv/topic/7a1...8#entry2140878 Like all fora there is plenty of rubbish on there, however as winter gets under way look for some/all of the following posters John Holmes, Nick Sussex and oldmetman. They give a balanced view of upcoming exciting weather events and they do not constantly have a dig/snipe at other members for having a particular favourite type of weather. Nice one! I'm "only" 10 pages into it and it's the sort of thing that I'm after ![]() Also you wont find UKSW's self appointed "coldie" policeman there either as he was banned a long time ago. Good stuff, otherwise in my experience over time one rotten apple rots the whole barrel. I believe in free speech as much as the next guy, but that doesn't mean tolerating antisocial behaviour. There is nothing wrong at looking/hoping for cold /snow, i know i do, but then i also like intense heat - what does that make me? Bi-Polar? I melt at 24C - although now that I have a dehumidifier (my house was renovated last year, and now it's less well ventilated), it'll be interesting to see if I feel the heat as much indoors in the next big heatwave. |

I often describe myself as an extreme weather addict. Extreme heat Extreme cold 20M vis fog 50mm rain (I live in the South east - 50mm is extreme!!) 60+Kn wind I love them all. I'm almost the same! Extreme temperatures can go shove it, UNLESS: Deep snow Ice (but only if I can find my cleats - having no grip is no fun) Stair-rod rain Strong winds which can get close to knocking me over Fog Fog, at night, walking down a street with cute-looking street lights shining through it Fog, rolling along a river surface whilst walking on the towpath Lightning storms |

My name is Nick Humphries, and I'm addicted to the Annual Winter Snow Watch. In previous years I've loved the Annual Winter Snow Watch, and following Will Hand and other's thoughts on the chances of snow has been a real treat, especially in the run-up the the snow events in '09 and '10. Now that enjoyment has been spoiled by the sorts of enthusiasm-draining behaviour you tend to find on unmoderated forums after a while, can anyone recommend any other forums or forum threads which are similarly enthusiastic snow watches? Ta ![]() Hi Nick Here is one i dip into now and again http://forum.netweather.tv/topic/7a1...8#entry2140878 Like all fora there is plenty of rubbish on there, however as winter gets under way look for some/all of the following posters John Holmes, Nick Sussex and oldmetman. Netweather's forums are well run with a variety of model output and related discussion, regional discussions et al. I think it has a definite edge over The Weather Outlook's forum, though I read both, and also UK Weather World, in addition to this newsgroup.
