We have had at least 5 consecutive days of almost unbroken sunshine in
S.Essex and the week before was also very sunny. A long time since we have had so much sun. I don't have sunshine records but it must be extremely high. Dave |

With the humidity so low despite working furiously levelling my garden and other jobs for 10 days I haven't broken sweat once. I wish summer was like this! On another point have you noticed the odd formation of some of the cirrus clouds drifting across? A couple yesterday today looked like quotes and an exclamation mark. |

Daytime max. in the region of +5C for the last few days following nightime lows of around -4C. Still very much winter here with regular snow since last November. All trees still bare twigs and the lawn won't need cutting for at least another 4 weeks. Still waiting for Spring, but the trouble is that we only have another 7 weeks and then the nights start drawing in to Christmas. Phil Northern Highlands of Scotland, 40 miles N. of Inverness |

Phil Northern Highlands of Scotland, 40 miles N. of Inverness Is any of the snow settling on the ground where you are? If not, are you able to estimate the snow line from the surrounding hills? What is a little surprising here in the SE is that despite decent spring warmth and plenty of sunshine the trees seem to be taking an age to produce their leaves. It is almost as if they don't trust the weather not to produce another blast of winter just when the blossom comes out. :-) There might only be seven weeks until the days start getting shorter, but there is a good deal longer than that until the climatological peak in temperature is reached. |

Incidentally, someone down your way on this group deals with lawns and i need a good recommendation for a weed and feed liquid, having a lawn on two types: one area weed free and the other needing treatment. Even so, I reckon the trees are still 2-3 weeks behind. -- Col Bolton, Lancashire 160m asl Snow videos: http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3QvmL4UWBmHFMKWiwYm_gg |

At least that far behind here, and there are still dafodils out, a month after when they are usually gone! -- Regards, Paul Hyett |
