I shall depart too but please note the following:

1) I may very well be back at some point.

2) Usenet, along with IRC and other text based internet communication, is
dead and has been for a very long time. Clinging to the wreckage is
probably not a Good Thing (tm).

3) No individual or group is to be blamed or credited - any that might
annoy me are killfiled anyway so that they do not.

4) Anyone who genuinely wants to be in contact with me can use email.

5) Ciao (:

It will never die completely as there is no reasonable replacement.

I think Google are trying to kill it. Searching for Old Google Groups
with the name of the group eg uk.sci.weather seems to be able to
thwart them at the moment though.

You still have to reset the settings to something more acceptable
though.
The huge adverising space on the left hand side and the constant flash
telling me to switch to new groups is annoying though. Nor do I want
Chrome. For some reason their Chrome OS is never offered by Linux
magazines. (Must be crap designed for morons and androids.)

See you down The Golden Lion then, provided you identify
