Default OT or Possibly Not Is the Nenana ice classic a proof of global warming?

Yeah right. New record set: the latest melt since 1964

Proof that abstract ideology can invariably trump reality.

By the way:

Can I say that the great John Daley would have cherished this moment. It was he who started using this popular lottery proxy on his website called ‘still Waiting For the Greenhouse’ back in the late 90′s . he was a stubborn man who stuck by his beliefs when all the signals showed otherwise .

He always, whilst blogging referred to this ‘Ice Classic’ as a true accepted measurement of global temperature. He really does deserve far more credit than he seems to get.

God bless you John, you’ve just won the lottery.

Hilarious. The Arctic is warming faster than anywhere else on earth and Larry cuts and pastes something about one colder bit. Congratulations, Larry, you just threw yourself into the weather trap. Localised, temporary, cold conditions are not, in fact, indicative of anything except weather. laughing

No, it is proof that Alaska, like us, had a cold spring!

Cheers, Alastair.

Exactly.
We had our coldest March since 1962, they had their latest ice melt since
1964.
Of course we don't have anything as dramatic as an 'ice melt' to demonstrate
conditions but that doesn't mean that our cold spring was any less unusual
than theirs.
