Surely some snow potential as far south as the peak district .f precipitation present on those cold Northerlies that eventually turn east taking from 'taters' to 'parky' with possibly a dash of 'brass monkey' thrown in as well.

By the looks of the forecast for Tuesday night from the MetO, the cold
spell is going out of sight.

This morning the forecast temp in Wolverhampton on Tues night was -3c.
By lunchtime it was up to -2c. Early this evening it was -1c. Finally
I've just looked at the forecast temp to Tues night and it's gone up to 0c.

Gone before it was here!

Well I don't play either game. The first, as you say, is rather
pointless but it is harmless enough. The second is also pointless but
also purile and fractious and has caused enough problems in this group.
But hey ho; what's done is done.
