No problems with flooding either, free draining soil is still workable :-) Yes, it is probably draining down into the Somerset Levels :-( And ultimately into the sea of course, contributing to sea level rise. I feel the oddness is more in your direction David. Mainly centred around deliberate misunderstanding.
And what, pray, am I deliberately misunderstanding? My own opinions, which are far from unique, see Alan's comment also? I don't understand how you can fail to recognise that the weather is a powerful agent and people on here have an emotional attachment to it. If you don't, then why are you on here? My you, I don't understand American spelling. |

Why anyone would actually enjoy these conditions is a mystery to me and to everyone else except for a select few like yourself. *)) Extreme weather is spectacular to those who have an interest in meteorology, that doesn't mean one can't have empathy for those who are suffering because of it, and it doesn't mean one would enjoy such destruction happening to their own property. |

Ever since you've decided to attempt a critique of my forecasting, you've deliberately misunderstood - see Gavino's comment on the other thread - which is odd. I don't understand why you would do that. My you, I don't understand American spelling. Would you mind translating that? |

People in a weather newsgroup, interested in rare and unusual weather. Is there not a difference between being interested in extreme weather, and enjoying it? Especially when that enjoyment takes no account of the misery being caused to others living closer to the ocean? The messiah ecourages the recruitment of his disciples by means of one-upmanship, and envy of the messiah's exalted position. He survives on his pinnacle firm in the belief that many others would wish to have his experiences (which is highly debateable), and because they will defend him from the slightest criticism, whether justified or not. |

Just a small message of sympathy, accompanying that OP, for the communities who are suffering dreadfully because of this record wet weather, would have helped and I would not have replied to his question. Cool, eh? Well, no; it isn't. |

I don't think serious self publicists can ever leave the building completely. They crave the adoration contained within. (I expect a ban will be winging its way to me shortly, after this.) |

Will -- http://www.lyneside.demon.co.uk/Hayt...antage_Pro.htm Will Hand (Haytor, Devon, 1017 feet asl) --------------------------------------------- So amazingly interesting. You'll get there as the flooding on the Somerset levels, in the Thames valley, in Worcester, in other areas and perhaps on the Devon Coast again, gets to intolerable levels with the coming storms. Don't you care? You post here; you see the concern; you register every post that is made that registers that concern from others and yet you think it is fun to anticipate a record amount for you, somehow distancing yourself from the newsgroup and the discussion. If you don't want to post here; go away for good. If you can't leave, put up with the criticism when you wallow in personal records, about which few, except one or two acolytes profess that they care about. Or post - which most of us would rather you do. Exactly what is the point of what you do leaving these posts on here, Will? |
