Yes, I think you're right there, Alex Salmond etc, has done a lot of
damage, regardless which way the vote goes.

Not to the Scots he hasn't. You are speaking just like a bloody
Englishman - you just don't understand!

Don't forget, this is our Union too, and we don't
even have a say in the matter!

As a Scot living in England I have a lot to say in this matter but this is not
the place. Time for the thread to end.

Ardmhor

Much as I hate to disagree with Ardmhor, I have to say that I
fear that John is right, and I am a Scot born and bred and
resident in Scotland. There was little appetite for a
constitutional change of this magnitude until the SNP started
stirring things up, and, now that the result is likely to be so
close, there will indeed be resentment by the more extreme
elements on whichever side loses. That is already manifesting
itself in defacement and destruction of both Yes and No campaign
posters and attacks (fortunately mostly still verbal) by one
side on the other, and I have heard reports of other malicious
acts, such as cars with a campaign sticker being vandalised.
Community spirit is being affected and, whatever the outcome,
the process has already done a good deal of damage.

Anne
