"No relief" is expected in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Delhi and other northern states for the next four days, and the "heatwave will continue," an official said. Reports said at least 10 people had died of the heat in the eastern state of West Bengal. Non air-conditioned taxis will be taken off the road for five hours during the day in the main city in the state capital, Kolkata, after two drivers died from heat stroke. Meteorological officials said the heatwave was due to a lack of rain. (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-india-32872846) http://www.xmetman.com/ https://xmetman.wordpress.com/ Look out for large magnitude earthquakes when the weather breaks -speaking of which, it is worth watching the Antarctic cyclone at 80 degrees east for the rest of today on the Australian charts. But I know I am preaching to the choir as only the bloody fools here will not listen to me. Does the choir include David Icke, L Ron Hubbard, Immanuel Velikovsky and Fred Phelps? What little I know about Ron Hubbard is that he founded a science of self help based on the fact that if you concentrate on a subject hard enough you will accomplish what you hoped for from the effort when you set out. He famously said there is more money in religion than writing science fiction If that is an error, please explain how so, thank you in advance. If they are singing now how are they going to pretend they were miming later? I don't know anything about Immanuel Velikovsky but if all I have to go on is the following: In general, Velikovsky's theories have been ignored or vigorously rejected by the academic community. Nonetheless, his books often sold well and gained an enthusiastic support in lay circles, often fuelled by claims of unfair treatment for Velikovsky by orthodox academia, then for no other reason but my experience with "orthodox academia" then I am prepared to listen to him and not only listen to him bust assign him credit over said expert critics until such time that I find out for myself I have reason to believe any of the **** such buggers stir. -- Martin replies to newsgroup only please. |

He famously said there is more money in religion than writing science fiction That just means there are a lot of people ready, willing and able to part with their money, not that he was lying. Originally religions were a way of stopping politicians stealing more than a tenth of everyone's money. If there are no other takers, tithes are a fair system for dealing with greedy rich people. Unfortunately that doesn't make the greedy rich people share everything, nor does it prevent them asking for more. Since ancient days, people have dealt with crooks and liars robbing them by going to live somewhere else. Equally traditionally, poor people have dealt with this sort of behaviour by clubbing together to buy boats and going off on holiday in them to rob rich emigrants. If you find that happening a lot as L Ron Hubbard did (so I heard) gang up in a large rich man's church and enslave your parishioners. When Mr Hubbard did it it was called being a war hero I heard he was a spy in the Pacific in WW2. I'm not certain. But it was a brave occupation if he was honest about it. |
