In all my 42 years in Met Office I managed not to work at HQ where ever it was located. Worked at Birmingham, Rheidahlen, Delmold, Birmingham, HQSTC and numerous detachments to exotic locations like Liverpool. I managed to visit Exeter only once for and that was retirement seminar.

Dear Mr Chips,
I see someone called TC Fred is in the news. Will he
visit us in Penrhyndeudraeth? That'd be a blow.

Yours sincerely, Mrs Trellis, North Wales.

TC Hughes.

That's one section where I never worked, Met O 4.
I've been in Met O 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, and 8 but skipped 4 and 5.
[Old Met O farts will know of what I speak]

Can anyone have a go? Met0 18a & 18b, Speke Airport, Preston ATCC. Just under 3 years. Regrettably short but you can stuff shift-work. I've done it in the back garden for 32 years now but earned a crust in the chemical industry, including a perfume company. Did you know that some formulations contain small amounts of skatole (3-methyl benzpyrrole), the chief odoriferous component of faeces. It is said to impart a "heavy floral bouquet".. Yeah, OK. I was a chemist, not a perfumer.

Talking of faeces, marginally more interesting than reading people MetO CVs, one of the top selling goggles /diving mask cleaners is called cat crap ( honest http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ek-123625-Ca.../dp/B002ZNA488 ) I was told cat crap is 1 of the ingredients, but that may well not be true - I'm not a chemist.

It does work.

You can get sex wax for surfboards ( http://www.sexwax.com/ ). Can't say it's worked for me.
