The current cool weather has resulted in the mean October temperature to
be below the long term average; this is the first month this has happened since October 2002 . Still to see an air frost this autumn; the minimum of 0.7° is the lowest so far. Only 10.4mm of rain so far this month which is more than the total for either August and September. Alan |

Avoided here too at Bedford, lowest +1.1. I am pretty centrally located tho.
A lot of sites around here seem to have just missed out tho. A blob of cloud over us was the prob the other night. "Vidcapper" wrote in message ... ... Still to see an air frost this autumn; the minimum of 0.7° is the lowest so far. Hi, Alan, Only a couple of slight air frosts here. I think the major low temps around here have been confined to frost hollows. It's been far too breezy at our elevation. My site is on the side of a very slight hill but is sheltered by houses and fences nearby. Alan |

Here in Cheltenham there have already been 5 air-frosts this October, and as I write (9.15pm) the temperature is already down to 1.4°C... It's twice been down to -3.8°C. -- Paul Hyett, Cheltenham Email to pahyett[AT]activist[DOT]demon[DOT]co[DOT]uk |

Similar figure here, with only a couple of slight ground frosts So you've been stuck with the dry spell without even any frosts to compensate? That would have driven me mad! BTW, I've had 5.4mm in the past 5 days, and with minimal evaporation & copious dew, the grass has started to perk up a little. Of course, the frost has already dealt a death-blow to delicate plants. -- Paul Hyett, Cheltenham Email to pahyett[AT]activist[DOT]demon[DOT]co[DOT]uk |
