.... yes, will be interested to see this one. If done properly, might be
a useful addition to the debate. The only problem for us older folk is
that we can remember all this before in the 1960's - though I think the
mechanisms invoked were different. Notwithstanding that, it's good to
see these matters aired at a reasonable time of day.

Martin.

Isn't this an old one which has been on some considerable time before??? Or was
that a Channel Four prog...??? There's definitely been something on this
subject on the box before. I remember watching it!

Cheers.

Pity. Horizon is now all drama and little (scientific) substance. Not
the program it used to be.

Me too. It was on about four years ago, I think.

Off topic follow-up - "The Theory of Everything" on Channel Four for the
next two Sundays is being compared to the old Horizon - as well it
should be, as WGBH Boston is involved. I won't bother watching a new
Horizon programme.

Seems to be the case with most historical/factual programmes these
days - all blasted dramatisations/re-constructions and the like. It
irritates the hell out of me. :-((

It's got better but no where near its standard from the 70's and 80's.
At least they seem to have got the idea that wobbly shots and jump
cuts don't make for good television.

How I agree with you, but it's the music so loud in the backgroud
that makes me turn it off, even though the content may be interesting.
