Has anyone got access to weather records for Gloucester for the evening
and following night on 27th October 2002?

If so, I would be interested in a contact so that I can ascertain the
weather at that time.

Thanks

Hi there steve

I live in Yate south Glos, so not ideal i know but the that day in general
in this area was very rough. I recorded the weather as being:- severe gales,
74mph top gust in the night, with some rain, then a brighter afternoon with
gales easing towards the eve of the 27th. max temp 15c min that night 5c in
much clearer and calmer conditions. Rain just 2.1mm though that day.

Hope that helps

Dave Yate (South Glos)

Well, I'm not in Gloucester, but I am fairly close.

The second half of the night was extremely windy & mild. The pressure
dropping 17mb in 8hours, then rising 30 in the following 11. I have no
rain recorded for that night though.

You could try the Gloucester Citizen, which is the local paper, (not the
Gloucester Gazette mentioned by someone else which I think is an advertising
freebie).

Records for Staverton Airport would probably give you the information you need.
If someone knows where archives of Metars for EGBJ can be found?

JPG

Thanks

Cheltenham library should have temperature & rainfall data, but probably
not METAR's.

Thanks to everyone who responded.

My contact was most grateful for the help in a legal battle over the
strength of the wind that night - apparently not everyone down there
agrees that it was a tad windy that night!!!!!!!!!!!

74mph - quite blowy that:-))
