As I understand it, Francis Wilson of Sky news Weather has won many
'gongs' for best weather presenter and for content/detail - 6.5m homes
have sky TV installed .In many ways, its a sad reflection of TV in
this country when the most talked about TV progs' are on state owned
Radio/TV channels (I didn't say state run, but many a politician has
tried to influence those channels)

The trouble with Francis Wilson is that he is so laid back that it is
difficult to stay awake through to the end of his broadcast.

But never the less, the guy knows his stuff

And of course, not everyone in the country has satellite TV. My 84 year old
mother in law for example doesn't - I am quite sure she would want to make
an informed vote in this poll, but sadly would feel unable to do so being
limited to a knowledge of terrestrial broadcasters only.

6,500,000 homes have sky installed so it should not be limited to
BBC/ITV/C4/C5 .Anyway, I expect a BBC person to get the largest
number of votes, whether it's for the right reason or not we will see
- of course it will help some if they are female, very attractive, a
full pair of t*ts all compacted into a nice bodyshell - you can see
that from some of the postings

Since none of the TV channels seem to be doing this maybe we should do it in
here and unofficially award this prestigious prize - I am sure it would be
picked up by the press and we could all have a bit of fun.

For best I mean most coherent, least verbose etc. you know the things that
you look for. I suppose it would really be BBC folks as there does not seem
to be any competition.

and i guess it would be those seen nationally.

As news 24 blood more and more new faces it would be good to identify the
top 3, to set standards so to say )

I will leave out radio and press as that would be too easy and the
competition would not be eden, i mean even.

my vote would be

1. Rob McElwee - by some margin
2. Philip Avery
3. Peter Gibbs

Not state run, but run by an Aussie turned Yank who has the interest
of the viewer/reader at heart, of course - especially if they like
large-bosomed ladies - and he has been known to influence the result
of elections.

Er.. there seem to be a few missing. Unless you are limiting it to national
presenters. ISTM that the presenters on satellite TV (who I have never heard
of) are given precedence over local presenters on terrestrial TV. Where are
our local ITV ladies, Emma Jesson and Charlie Neil?

Local presenters are inevitably going to be handicapped in a poll by
being seen by only a limited number of people.

As are the ones on satellite TV.
But in any case, SOME local presenters appear to be listed!
