Adrian - hi there again,

I think that red-echo is Anaprop - due to the current conditions - quite
typical for that area of the country.

Could be a huge storm - but I doubt it - I'm sure someone more knowledgeable
than me can confirm that it's anaprop ?

Mark.

Hi Mark,

No, i sold my old Skyscan and got a Strikealert just like yours.

The Boltek is kinda great but very pricey for the time i'd use it for. Maybe
next year.

Happy with Strikealert for now, especially as we have had no storms really
properly here this year yet.

Not sure if I'm any more knowledgeable on the subject but the infra-red
imagery isn't showing any tell-tale blobs over E Anglia !

I'd be interesting in your comparison of the Strikealert vs the Skyscan ?
I've found my Strikealert very accurate - although it seems to pick up
intereference from CRTs switch on/off even more than 10m away. Some nights
when we have storms coming from France etc - it seems to pick up detection
in the 20-40 miles range when nothing in that range - I'm presuming that
depending on the atmospheric conditions the max range could be lower or much
higher - it seemed to be picking strikes up in the 70-100 mile range -
comparing it with some of the Boltek sites,

Mark.

Nothing showing anywhere in the last 6 hours over land in the UK

Just a bit off the west coast of Wales, and a hint around Lands End.
