Default Extreme weather more often now ?

Great hail in Iran, size of golfballs... Not long ago.
Great monsunflood in Asia/Bangladesh, it seems covering more area than
earlier years ?
New Zealand and earthquake/big rain with tremendous disasters...

More people are being hit by lightening, 4 people in Romania, even here
in Norway some golfplayers are stroke by lightening..

But, to my utter dissapointement, it seems that all that stuff is
"no-need-to-know" regarding the newspapers/tv/radio in particular !

Is it concern of people going hysteria e.g religious fanatism ?

Shouldn't be playing golf when there is the slightest chance of lightning!

This stuff happens all the time all over the world, there is nothing unusual
about it, I don't think extreme weather is more common now.

It is only newsworthy if it affects the areas where the newspapers are printed
or the TV stations and reporters are located unless it is very big, such as
Hurricane Mitch. No doubt your media concentrate on Oslo and Bergen weather
events but ignore Tromso and Hammerfest where I've no doubt that in winter, the
weather can be pretty extreme for quite a lot of the time.

I think it's a case of news events being able to be reported more or less as
they happen, anywhere in the world. Mass hysteria or mass superstition
(religion) doesn't really come into it.
