Default Germany low temps

Tuesday March 1st saw -25C reported at 6am at Munich airport.

Were there any lower temps around, not reported on Wetterzentrale or
Wunderground?

Puts this current kerfuffle about our cold snap into perspective!
(For those intrerested, the really low temps we had in December 1981 with
temps well below -10 down to below -20C
were not matched in Germany)

Default Germany low temps

I remember 1981 was so cold at -23 and I was working as a lorry mechanic at
night and I had to be taken to hospital because a spanner stuck to my hand
and after my workmate pulled it off the skin came with it. We had many
breakdowns that year

The germans lost the war and also lost the coldest temperature competition
but as people they can be colder than the Brits at times. he he he

My friend from Munich happened to email today and said (I can't confirm
this report)

"A place called Funtensee got -43.6C last Tuesday."
