This has been a great thread.

But my "IT speak" is a little weak (yes, your can all agree on that)
Are the insults/banter correctly called "trolls" or "flames" or both?

Jack

Jack, to put it simply, "trolls" are, more often than not, the authors of
"flames". Trolls take delight in upsetting the accepted order with some
posts of an inflammatory nature, then stepping back and letting the sparks
fly, and then gently fanning the fire they started....

Well I'm saying no more about it. I can't believe people are getting their
stuffy knickers in such a twist and then ganging up to put the proverbial
boot in! We'll have to wear a bleedin tie next to post on here!

Enough! get me out of here.

Please try not to be patronising it's not a very becoming feature. I was
merely pointing out that this is a newsgroup for weather-related discussion
not petty bitching

It's a small thing don't go into supersonic hyperbole.
What clutter? a whole 1KB. Do me a favour.

Poor quality more like it. I come on here to read about the weather not
about petty squabbles. It does you nor the target of your jibes any
favours.
Just cut it out and let the quality of this newsgroup speak for itself
without cluttering it up with threads like this please?

Guys,

I'm sick to the back teeth of this inflammatory type of posting. I

simply
try to help by posting the latest run and I get stuff like the last

post.

It's quite simple, a forecast is just that until the period is over.

If these model threads are simply going to degenerate into "it's not

what
such and such forecasted" etc then I'd rather not play a part at all.

A

==========

So when he gets it right he does a big smile becomes really happy and

boasts
about it giving himself reason to brag!!

But if he gets it wrong Nobody is allowed to say anything , if people
dont
like the forecast Nobody is allowed to say anything

What a joker!! hopefully while he is snowboarding an avalanche will

cover
him up never to be heard from again.

"the cool down will be remarkable and next week will be the week that
Winter bites" -- really? none of the models agree with that

what happened to the snow that monday, what happened to snow from the
22 -
27th? sigh Andrew bond should quit!

do it manually:

LOL
well that brings up another interesting point.
Why do male weather presenters wear suits and ties to present the
weather forecast?

Ok, well maybe they can progress onto sports jackets when they are no
longer spring chickens

I link suits and ties with formal business, and i know that forecasting
is a 'business' in a sense
but surely there is room there to be a bit more casual. It's the
weather we are talking about here,
so do they have to dress as if they are applying for an important job
interview for each two minute tv presentation?

Dan Corbett, love him or loathe him, well at least he's got a
'different' presenting style, but notice that suit is still being worn
;-)

I'd heard that people like to express an aspect of the personalities by
the clothes they wear, and i find the dark coloured suit and ties combo
to be extremely dull, of course, just my opinion
