Wasn't his dad "Wedgie"?

Tony Benn.

Why "Wedgie"? Was that a nickname of some kind for him?

His middle name is 'Wedgwood'.

As a hardline socialist, I'm very surprised you didn't know that.

Default WHY BLOCKING HIGH?

Does anyone know the reason for this blocking high ,I`ve looked back at the
saved pressure charts for the last 4 weeks and cant see a reason .Perhaps
one of you wiser meteorological soles can enlighten the rest of the group
and bannish Wedgie Benn from this group forever.

Default Damien's meeting with the MP

I knew you would be first.;-) :-o

Of course. You are entertaining.

To me this looks a little - and that's an understatement!:-o -
PATRONISING, not to mention treacherous.:-(

He happened to read this ng and decided you were a prat?

LOL. I don't think so - but who knows!:-o

"Damien Bedd" is not my real name anyway. (I would have thought

that
this was obvious?)

I never thought it was......

Oh.

My security needs protecting, you know.:-o

Who is the secretary of state for international development

anyway,

The Rt Hon Member of Parliament for Leeds Central, HILARY BENN.

Leeds?
Where I spent my formative years. And where, I might add, in the

north
Leeds suburbs I grew used to heavy snow on a regular basis,

especially
in the late 70's/early 80's. And then I moved to the milder,

sheltered
western slopes of the Pennines. What about *my* DREAMS, eh?

Fight the liars - Presutti, Partridge, and co. - for them BACK!:-)

and why would he/she be scheduled to meet you?

He was one of three MPs - if the most prominent, nationally - who

was
doing a talk on "Trade Justice and International Development". I

was
EXCLUSIVELY invited to it.

So why aren't you there?

*"WERE'NT"*. Why WEREN'T, or WASN'T I there, okay?

I got the impression he hadn't turned up.......

No, he turned up.

Why? Because I am a GENIUS!:-)

Thought so.:-o :-p

Was Will Hand INVITED to this? NO! Damien was!!!:-(

Why should he be?
He's a meteorologist, not a businessman.

WHO SAID I AM A "BUSINESSMAN"!?

I meant Will as an EXAMPLE, anyway. I was originally thinking of
somebody else from this forum, who was perhaps *closer* to such a
thing, occupationally. He was just a bad choice, that I chose because
of sheer popularity on here, and his "USW Chief Forecaster" signature,
etc..

Perhaps he/she was snowed in, that would be irony for you

LOL. I don't think so. Huddersfield is quite dry at the moment,

though
a *little* damp by the river.

He was there, anyway. So was, to my surprise, TWO - the number, not

the
website:-) - of our local MPs.

So if you went and met him anyway, what are you complaining about?

Because I DIDN'T MEET HIM!!!

Jesus.

D.
