I did not expect so many damning comments!

Due to my general incompetence would Richard Dixon and Brian Gaze be
good enough to re-post.

My enthusiasm for winter has not decreased despite advancing age. I
have given my apologies and reasons for non-issue, that should be
enough.

For those who feel let down I am sorry. This is not a permanent lapse
on my part.

Cheers
Paul

Sorry Paul but I think you were caught between a rock and a hard place.

Given the way any snow is seized upon and looked forwards to in the NG, it
was inevitable that some would be disappointed to hear you say that its
going to be a mild winter again, in your opinion. Plus as your forecast has
been looked forwards to for a number of years, to hear you didn't think it
was worth your time and effort, it must have been, to those who wanted your
forecast, like telling a child Santa doesn't exist....

Don't forget everyone, that Paul did this forecast as a favour. If he
decides its not worth his time and effort as it will probably be much the
same as the last few winters, then ACCEPT it. He gives his reasons, be
thankful Will does such a fine job on here...

Indeed, by some of the comments anybody would think Paul was
contractually obliged to provide a winter forecast for this group!
And not just from the 'usual suspects' who you would expect
idiotic remarks from. There were a few unpleasant comments in
there from those 'mature' contributors who I really thought would
have known better.

Sorry Col can't let that go... what were these "idiot remarks" and who made
them?.
I've gone over Paul's 'WinterApologies Thread' and I fail to see these
people who feel that Paul according to you

"by some of the comments anybody would think Paul was contractually obliged
to provide a winter forecast for this group!"

People rattle on about objective science and already we have distortions of
the truth.
So Col in the interest of getting to the truth, who were these "usual
suspects" and what did they say?

I for one (of many, I'm sure) don't feel at all let down. Quite the
reverse; I am grateful for the Winter forecasts you've provided in
the past and for the considerable amount of time you must have spent
preparing them.

Thank you for them all.

I'd like to echo that, and hope that you didn't see my earlier post as
being unduly critical.

Well in the interests of not starting further arguments, I'm not going
to name names but they know who they are.
As far as I'm concerned, that's the end of the matter.
Take it or leave it.

Rob, There are a lot of things in people's lives that impede progress.
If I can clear some of the detritus in mine I may still issue.
