Well I've booked my trip to see Santa, so looking forward to some great snow
conditions.

I did the same David however I'm becoming a tad concerned at the models
showing milder air (528mb) beginning to make serious inroads into the area
from Monday/Tuesday onward.

I know it's been very cold in places to the north of Finland - I only hope
the forthcoming changes don't ruin what is a dream journey for
me...a-hem..cough, I mean the kids of course.

Enjoy your trip David.

Are you talking about this week ?
For Rovaniemi, the forecast for tomorrow -10C, Tue - Wed -2C and snow,
Thursday -10C, Friday 0C and snow. In Kittilä a tad colder.

Note that the symbol for "clear" is moon, not sun.

It was snowy when I was there (Swedish Lappland) in April 2001:

I really want to go back and hopefully I'll take a better camera with me
then!

Enjoy your trip!

Elena,

many thanks for the update. I feel better already!

I'm heading away the following week, Dec 15th-17th inclusive. Too far away
for a reliable forecast now I know, however I'd be very grateful if you
could keep me "posted" on conditions as we get closer to the date? We're
heading for the Province of Oulu - not sure of exact location. I'll need to
dig out the details to find that out.

Kind regards,

J.

Just as I was beginning to think I missed a forecast or two, I suddenly
realised that the Wednesday will be giving some team from Hull a drubbing.
Thanks for reminding me Rob.
Hopefully I'll be the only happy driver heading back East.

Drubbing? DRUBBING? Sounds like a you've caught a dose of TWO syndrome or
perhaps a touch of the virulent metheque virus if you believe that, Dave...!

I will restrain myself and just say to David, "You were saying?" Turns out
it was the Wednesday that had to take the drubbing.
