In short, the BBC's ditching their current system and bringing in a 3D,
zooming, soaring graphics system instead.

Yeah, they'll be using terms like "maybe", "possibly", "perhaps",
"you-never-know", "just-possibly-perhaps" and others for that more human
touch.

Ah - the Met Office - making an inexact "science" cr@p....

There has just been a feature on the local news about the fact that
the weather symbols commonly used on the BBC forecasts are
going to be replaced from this coming Monday.
However they didn't tell us what they were going to be, the 'sneak
preview'
will apparently be tomorrow.

Does anybody know anything about this?

No, nothing you've said, I was just thinking along the lines of are
they 'dumbing down' the forecasts, I hope I'm wrong. I would be
surprised if they to made more intellectual.

I don't see what is wrong with the symbols anyway.
They are clear, concise and unfussy. Almost 'minimalist'.

They don't show the precise clothing we should be wearing for the day's
weather. Perhaps the new graphics will show wellies, umbrellas,
pullovers, sun glasses, etc. :-)
