Ah but did you notice the area covered by the SW Peninsula was just about
the same as that far flung land of Scotland.

By my reckoning they think Scotland is the same size as Surrey - but I
guess that's where they think most people live.

I'm glad as well that I'm not the only person made queasy by all that movement.

It's given me an idea. Next time I am up in my glider, I'll make a small
video and see if I can throw the background as much as the BBC manage. It
will be quite a challenge.

Incidentally, I have never felt ill in a glider. Not so sure now whether I
can say the same about watching TV.

I agree, the new graphic system is a real turkey. However, at least
synoptic charts survive on the Internet site run by the much criticised
Met Office at http://www.meto.gov.uk/weather/charts/index.html

It's pity the BBC has gone out of the business of 'proper' weather
forecasting though. Most people who actually needed to know something
about the weather would usually go to the BBC rather than the cartoon
approach provided by other available TV channels.

Unfortunately it probably cost them so much to implement that there is
no possibility of going back. And this is a view of todays UK weather
viewed from an inbound ICBM with a wide angle lens...

They only need to add some dancing girls to complete the demolition job
on what was once a useful national weather forecast. Below rock bottom
