Been a perfect day to be glued to the TV and Live 8. Cloudy outside, yet
a balmy warmth. Ideal for all involved.

I must say the music has been far better than I was expecting, with many
bands I hear my son playing. I go back to Knebworth and Led Zeppelin and
when we used to get Status Quo, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath adn Humble
Pie at the Kursaal.

Tell me I'm getting old, but is all the swearing really necessary? I was
most dissapointed in Madonna !

You must have been really disappointed back in the 70's with Black Sabbath,
Status Quo or Deep Purple then!

I was impressed with the bits I managed to watch. Madonna & Dido / Yous
n'Dour were both very good. Very moving when that girl came on just before
Madonna.

Hopefully I will be "Comfortably Numb" after listening to them as
well.

I believe they're a popular beat combo from the '70's ;o)

What did you expect, The Madonna? She's Madge, not Her Maj.
Also, I won't embarass everyone by revealing how Private Eye refers to
The Greatest Living Irishman.
