Some individual stations can, of course, match or beat extremes at
both ends of the table. Although Oxford seems to have records going
back to only 1852, its extreme January means are +7.7 (1916) and -3.0
(1963). In the latter case, the mean maximum was -0.2 and mean min
-5.8. Lucky Oxford!
