Provisional CET: 10.5ºC (0.7 degC above the 71-00 mean)
Prov E&W rain: 762mm (81% of 71-00 mean)
Prov E&W sun: 1806 hr (118% of 71-00 mean)

Here are a few more statistical odds and ends:

Although the overall CET seems to be ranked in equal 7th place,
the mean maximum CET is, provisionally, a new record. A handful
of sites in the English Midlands and also in northern Scotland had
mean maxes more than 2 degC above the 71-00 norm. A few
places in northern Scotland and along the English east and south
coasts had mean mins 1.5-2.0 degC above, but generally speaking
mean mins were much closer to average.

Hottest day:
Highest 38.5C at Faversham/Brogdale
Lowest 19.9C at Fair Isle
Coldest day:
Highest 5.7C at St Mary's (Scilly)
Lowest -9.1C at Altnaharra
Warmest night:
Highest 23.7C on the rooftop formerly known as London Weather

Centre
Lowest 14.5C at Foula (Shetland)
Coldest night:
Highest -0.3C at St Mary's
Lowest: -18.3C at Aviemore
