I don't think OE will let you do that Jack, other than blocking
individual senders.
Having said that, Thunderbird only has spam filters for email and not
for news ... I can only filter out specific things.

I rely on the News server doing the spam filtering for me.

With mail of course I get the best of both ... the server filters it and
removes viruses, my firewall filters it and removes viruses, and
Thunderbird filters it too.
Reading that I sound paranoid! But I have not had an email virus get
through and I get very little spam mail.
