Some remarks from The Netherlands: (data De Bilt)
July will end up at about 18.8 C average (norm: 17.4 C), so somewhat
warmer than normal.
However, as June was very warm, 17.8 C (norm: 15.2 C), it will "only"
take a 19.5 C average August to turn the 2003 summer into an absolute
top summer like 1947 - the warmest on the Dutch record up to now.
What is so special is not the exceptional heat - we only had some
really hot weather mid July - but the total absence of cold summer
weather days.
Anyway: August will have a warm start, so who knows ...
