That's good enough for most purposes but it's not spot on, especially at
this time of year or if you're some way from the line of longitude used
for your time zone.

There's a nice little java applet at http://www.jgiesen.de/SME/ that
will give you the position of the sun and moon for a given time and
place.

I used the applet the other day to work out the bearing of my windows.
It came out at 130 degrees. The watch method gives 139 degrees.
