Nope, Richard, never read/heard about that effects; and
afaik there is no
scientific proof of such a correlation either.
In the Nature's article about the Japanese springtime mountains its the
other way around -- raising temperature causes indirectly, via melting snow,
seismic activity. Makes me think of the breaking rocks of the Matterhorn; it
could be linked to that in a similar direction :-).
