Global warming. Public storming!
Well now this old greenhouse cynic thought, emh snow is a rare as Battery
Hens Teeth! So surely then due to a warming planet and the consequential
warnings of people like Alastair (Son of Meacher man) super-storms are on
the planets disaster itenary. This one could be quite serious. Yes there
was lots and lots of damage but not to life or property! but to the
reputation of Forecasters.
I saw the BBC news this morning and listened to the knowledgable Louise
Lear. She was sandwiched between those ****s Dermot Moanahan and Natasha
AmIkinky, who read out reams of e-mails of people fom all over the country
reporting on the first gust? and drops of rain that happened to assault
their window panes. Actually some of the names and terminology struck a
chord. "Peeps, mate, ramp". Hello I thought the BBC are live at the TWO
Forum!
Anyhow to work by CAR (eat exhaust Livingdrone)
I carefully planned my ruote to avoid trees, derelict looking buildings with
dodgy roof tiles and very obese people. Nowt! Anyhow briefly heard Kettley
saying the storm had been downgraded but still BEWARE!.
Around 11am I watched grey clouds and their rain fall totally without any
influence of wind! I remarked to a colleague how deathly still the
atmosphere was. Ehmm must be arriving soon, I thought, by 1pm the sky had
started to break and the wind that had been howling at 1mph fell to a steady
0.5 mph. Maybe the thing had headed south east?
Now I've mentioned this before over the last several years that the
MET/forecasters go way over the top nowadays. This disease is now sreading
every where else.
Poisonous Salmon!
Extinctinion of the planets wildlife!
Doom Doom we're all doomed!.
Now I work in housing, currently within the care industry.
The next big money making scare scenario is legionellas disease. I won't
bore you with the statistics bar to say that enormouse amounts of money and
human resources is and will be spent in such devices as Thermastatic Valves
testing, deadleg piping, air-conditioning unit W/A and constant measuring
and testing with the customary training courses. Now if you can find the
heavily disguised facts , you will see that cases are few and far
between.220 for 2001 in England, I believe. With around 20 odd deaths. Of
course it does'nt make it right but most of these were folk in the eighties
and nineties. You ******* I hear you say. Well when you consider that male
pentionable age is ear-marked to be fixed at 70 for men you do the math.
What's this got to do with today's hyperboled storm. Every thing as far as
I'm concerned. The sheer fear of litigation. Health and safety has gone mad.
So as far I'm concerned today was all about over reaction to protect ones
backs.
